It has been traditional for East to offer coffee, donuts, and water on Alexander Street for the viewers and participants in the Hollyhock Lane 4th of July parade. Often East Church members also march, carry an East banner and throw out candy.
If we want to continue this tradition we need volunteers.
Curtis will make coffee and organize the set up and take down. Kristen Haas is willing to bring donut holes and help set up. We need other people: to help set up and take down, to bring small water bottles, to bring a cooler with ice, and to simply oversee the distribution and be a friendly face for our neighbors. If a group of members want to march, they should meet by the stand on Alexander and bring bags of candy.
Set up begins by 7:30 am and distribution begins immediately after. The marching order/timing will be determined by the parade’s grand marshal. The stand is taken down by the end of the parade, approximately 11am.
