Church Programs For Youth
Investing in today’s youth is necessary in growing the body of Christ. Teaching young people in the church to grow in their relationship with the Lord prepares them to serve Christ in all they do. As a result, this nurtures the congregation and allows the church to flourish. East Church has a long history of supporting their youth groups, consisting of youth in 6th to 12th grade.
Our youth program encourages students to interact with scripture stories through storytelling, delving deeper into the Bible passage with group discussion, and exploring faith concepts with experiential activities. Our progressive curriculum incorporates prayer and meditation, inviting our students to connect with God by providing opportunities to practice prayer techniques and adapt them as they continue on their faith path. ECCYG is all about connecting and building bridges between the generations as well as serving within the community. We meet every Sunday for fun, fellowship, and learning.
Confirmation Classes are scheduled for students in high school about every other year. The curriculum aims to help youth develop a deeper understanding of what it means to be a Christian and follower of Christ. Youth in high school meet approximately 10 times during the program year to learn more about the Christian Church, the United Church of Christ, East Church and what it means to declare oneself a member of God’s church.
